Text on back of card: View over Miklaey, the largest island in Mývatn lake. The pseudo craters were formed about 2000 - 2500 years ago when lava from a fissure eruption in the crater row Þrengslaborgir poured over marshland, super-heating the water beneath. Lava burst through the solidifying crust to form cones.
